鼎苑園主馬先生早期隨著台灣經濟局勢的轉變，離家背井隻身到大陸工作，一去就是二十多年。
由於愛好藝術又適逢因緣際會，在漫長歲月中潛心研究並收藏了許多珍貴的中國歷代陶瓷與明清傢俱。三年前退休返台心中就想著要替這些古代藝術品尋覓一個合適的展示場所，順便自己也可以藉機養生待客。為了完成理想輾轉找到苗栗公館北河村這塊淨土，沿途山氣繚繞、人跡稀少、路況寬廣平坦、又無塞車會車之鼎苑小築採預約包棟式服務，一次只接待一組貴賓。讓閣下獨享環繞山景、百坪綠地、70坪室內空間。清晨鳥鳴喚醒、夜間星月滿天與您入夢。苦，於是決定在這落腳打造的夢想。
園主花了一年半的功夫，大略完成了主建築和周邊設施。希望能提供同好們一個放鬆和賞寶的好處。
