老闆陳大哥的父親－陳義山先生，當年是老總統－蔣介石先生專屬的划船駕駛員，時常划著舢舨帶著老總統游湖，感受日月潭的美景，而「總統魚」的名號也是因為這樣的機緣而來，陳老先生以日月潭的特產「曲腰魚」招待老總統，從此之後「總統魚」就成為日月潭的特色。陳家一開始是做遊艇業，921後，開始蓋湖景度假旅店，因有防震的觀念，特地選擇防震九級的建材，讓每一個住宿的遊客都可以住得安心與安全。
