古典的建築正灌注當代的生命力，新竹市美術館2017年以『新竹當代@我的美術館』為主軸，將推出四檔當代藝術展，92年的古蹟將轉型為市民接觸當代藝術的新場域，新竹市美術館也將成為竹塹地區當代藝術的殿堂。新竹市美術館是新竹市重要古蹟，也是新竹藝文匯聚中樞，為了讓市民更親近藝文生活，2017年以『新竹當代@我的美術館』為主軸，強化新竹美術館與當代藝術的連結，今年將推出的四檔當代藝術展，展期長達9個月，透過親近的策劃佈展，讓市民吸收當代藝術創作者的意念，及對環境、社會的思辨，讓美術館不只是藝術地標，更是你我可以親近的美術館。新竹市美術館自1925年興建迄今邁入92年，是新竹市重要的文化資產之一，古蹟建築於2007年12月25日重新開館啟用，今年也適逢開館啟用10週年，透過『新竹當代@我的美術館』的展覽，美術館將由古蹟展場轉型為市民接觸當代藝術的新場域。
