Chiayi District Prosecutors Office Company Information
General information
本署前身（日據時代）為臺南地方法院嘉義分院檢察處，光復後於民國三十四年中改組，由首任檢察官劉道正代行首席檢察官及行政業務，至民國三十六年六月一日始正式成立臺灣嘉義地方法院檢察處。本署自民國三十六年成立之初，首長為首席檢察官，綜理處務，置檢察官辦理刑事偵查、執行、相驗等業務，人事業務由主任書記官兼辦，紀錄、執行、文書、總務等業務，均由書記官承辦或兼主科，戒護人犯等業務由法警辦理，會計及統計業務，由法院之會計及統計兼辦，民國六十九年七月一日審檢分隸，從此各級法院劃歸司法院，檢察體系則歸法務部統轄。
民國七十八年十二月廿四日，法院組織法修正施行，改制為臺灣嘉義地方法院檢察署，首長首席檢察官改稱檢察長，書記室改為書記處，紀錄、執行、文書、研考、總務等科科長，由法務部令派書記官兼任，民國八十年三月十五日，行政院核定本署之類別及員額為第二類法院檢察署。民國八十一年九月十六日，原人事室（二）奉准改設為政風室，接辦部份人事室（二）及新增政風業務。
